Oxytocin is a nine-amino-acid cyclic neuropeptide characterised in the biochemical literature as an agonist at the oxytocin receptor (OXTR). Supplied as lyophilised powder for in-vitro research use only.
The above describes how this compound is characterised in the published peer-reviewed literature. It is not a claim about effects in humans.
Oxytocin is supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed glass vial. For laboratory reconstitution, add the desired volume of diluent (typically bacteriostatic water) slowly down the side wall of the vial. Swirl gently until fully dissolved - do not vortex or shake. Store reconstituted solutions at 2–8 °C and use within 4–6 weeks.
Use our Reconstitution Volume Calculator to compute the resulting mg/ml concentration.
| State | Temperature | Shelf life |
|---|---|---|
| Lyophilised | 2–8 °C or −20 °C | Up to 24 months |
| Reconstituted | 2–8 °C | 4–6 weeks typical |
Every batch of Oxytocin we supply is independently HPLC-verified by Janoshik Analytical. Where a Janoshik report has been issued for the current batch it is supplied with the order and carries a unique verification key that can be authenticated against Janoshik's records. Reported purity is consistently above 99%.
