Neuropeptide Research Compounds

UK supplier of seven neuropeptide research compounds spanning CNS, circadian, neurohormone and HPG-axis pathways. From the Russian-origin BDNF-modulating Semax and Selank to the cyclic neurohormone Oxytocin and the HPG-axis modulator Kisspeptin-10. Every batch independently HPLC-verified by Janoshik Analytical at 99%+ purity. Research use only - not for human consumption.

What This Category Covers

The neuropeptide research family is broader than the other categories on this site - it spans multiple receptor systems and neurochemical pathways unified by their CNS site of action or neurohormone biology. Compounds here are studied in published literature for cognition, anxiolysis, sleep architecture, social-bonding research, circadian biology, the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, and melanocortin signalling.

This is the most chemically diverse category in our catalogue. Compounds range from a 4-residue tetrapeptide to small-molecule indoleamines (melatonin) to cyclic 7-residue melanocortin analogues.

The Russian-Origin Pair: Semax and Selank

Semax and Selank are two of the most-cited neuropeptide research compounds developed in Russian research literature. Both are 7-residue peptides approved as therapeutics in Russia/CIS countries and characterised extensively in published research elsewhere.

  • Semax - Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. ACTH(4-10) analogue with BDNF / nootropic-pathway signal in published research. The first non-Russian peer-reviewed studies appeared in the early 2000s.
  • Selank - Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. Tuftsin analogue with GABAergic and immunomodulatory signal. Studied for anxiolytic-pathway research.

Direct comparison: Semax vs Selank.

Sleep and Circadian Research

Two compounds focus on circadian and sleep-architecture pathways:

  • DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) - 9-residue peptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood. Modulates slow-wave sleep architecture in published research; specific receptor remains characterised in literature.
  • Melatonin - the canonical circadian neurohormone. Indoleamine, MT1/MT2 receptor agonist, light-sensitive - protect from light during reconstitution.

Neurohormones and HPG-axis Research

  • Oxytocin - 9-residue cyclic neurohypophysial peptide. OXTR receptor agonist. Reference for social-bonding, lactation and HPA-axis research.
  • Kisspeptin-10 - the C-terminal active fragment of kisspeptin-54. KISS1R (GPR54) receptor agonist; key upstream regulator of GnRH in the HPG axis.

Melanocortin Pathway

PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a 7-residue cyclic α-MSH analogue with selective MC4R activity at relevant doses. The melanocortin pathway overlaps with neuropeptide research because MC4R signalling extends into central appetite and sexual-behaviour pathways. Approved (Vyleesi) in some jurisdictions for research-relevant indications.

Note: a separate Melanocortin Research tier in our catalogue includes MT-1 (Afamelanotide) and MT-2 (Melanotan II). PT-141 sits at the boundary because of its CNS-pathway research focus.

Selection Criteria

Cognition / nootropic research

Semax is the canonical reference for BDNF / nootropic research literature.

Anxiolytic-pathway research

Selank is the canonical reference for GABAergic / anxiolytic neuropeptide research.

Sleep architecture research

DSIP for delta-wave / slow-wave research; Melatonin for circadian-rhythm and antioxidant research.

HPG-axis research

Kisspeptin-10 for GnRH-pulse research; Oxytocin for HPA-axis and social-bonding research.

Laboratory Handling

All compounds in this category are supplied as lyophilised powder in sealed glass vials. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the side wall, swirling gently. Melatonin is light-sensitive - store in amber containers. Use the on-site Reconstitution Volume Calculator for mg/mL maths.

  • Lyophilised solid: 24+ months at 2–8 °C.
  • Reconstituted: typically 14 days at 2–8 °C (compound-specific).
  • Cyclic peptides (Oxytocin, PT-141) are particularly stable in solution.

Purity & Verification

Compounds in this category are independently HPLC-verified by Janoshik Analytical at 99%+ purity. Where a Janoshik report has been issued for the current batch it is supplied with the order, and verification records are published on the Purity page.
